Teagan’s Journey: A Story of Strength, Hope, and Healing

Our beautiful daughter Teagan was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL), a diagnosis that turned our world upside down. She bravely went through months of intensive treatment in our home country (Ireland), and for a while, we believed she was on the road to recovery. But her leukemia proved to be aggressive, and despite everything, she couldn’t reach remission  — this time with a high risk of relapse.

Teagan’s only chance of long-term survival was a stem cell transplant. Because of her unique situation, a haploidentical transplant — using cells from her dad — offered her the best hope. But the treatment she needed wasn’t available where we live. It meant leaving behind everything familiar and travelling to the UK to give Teagan a fighting chance.

Thanks to the support of The Gavin Glynn Foundation, we were able to make that move. They took on the financial burdens of travel, accommodation, and logistics, allowing us to focus entirely on what mattered most — saving our daughter’s life.

Teagan received her transplant in March 2025. Her body went through so much: full body radiation, strong chemotherapy, infections, fevers, painful mucositis, and a dangerous viral infection (adenovirus) that threatened her recovery. She spent weeks in isolation. Some days, we weren’t sure she would make it.

But Teagan is a fighter.

She smiled through the pain, bossed us around from her hospital bed, and never gave up. Her blood results slowly started to improve. The transplant engrafted. Her latest tests show 100% donor cells and no signs of leukemia in her bone marrow — a miracle we were desperately hoping for.

Although she still faces challenges — including long hospital stays, feeding support, and ongoing fevers — she’s now out of isolation, playing with her brother in the park, and finding joy in the smallest things again. She is slowly rebuilding.

We will never forget what the Gavin Glynn Foundation made possible. Without their help, we couldn’t have accessed this life-saving treatment. They gave Teagan not just a chance to live — but a future.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our girl.
