BIO
Sharon Walsh is currently CEO of HEINEKEN Ireland, a position she has held since March 2023.

Sharon joined HEINEKEN Ireland as Marketing Director in 2010 after various marketing roles at United Distillers and Diageo working across the spirits portfolio, and later at Coca Cola working on sports, energy and across the soft drinks category.  In her role as Marketing Director she was instrumental in unlocking business growth through a consumer first approach fuelled by deep consumer insight, accelerating brand value, and driving a portfolio approach, a highlight being the company’s move beyond beer into the cider category. The successful launch of Orchard Thieves sparked a roll out in many other countries across Europe.  Sharon was appointed Global Cider Director at HEINEKEN NV in 2016, where she further shaped the Cider category around the globe with a clear business strategy, new brand innovations and variety of flavours and tastes.

Sharon returned to HEINEKEN Ireland in early 2020 and moved into the role of Commercial Director. During these years, she led the sales organisation through the toughest Covid closures in Europe, truly living customer centricity, keeping energy and momentum internally with her teams, and shaping a customer and consumer first recovery plan that led to the company coming out stronger, reflected in an impressive market share growth for the business.  Under her leadership, the sales function became a more diverse and inclusive organisation, and also made huge strides in being a digitally enabled and data driven sales organisation. The eB2B journey was started under her tenure, being by far the preferred ordering and service platform in the industry.

Today, as CEO, Sharon is passionate about empowering and mobilising teams, role modelling authentic leadership, and driving a daring, winning and caring culture.

Sharon is married to Alan and a busy mother of three teenage boys.  In her spare time, she likes to keep fit, play piano, socialise and travel with friends and family. Her favourite tipple is a cold fresh half pint of Heineken draught!
