Lauryn

Lauryn is 8 years old. She’s fun loving, energetic and full of life. She has 3 older brothers who adore her. She loves dancing, gymnastics and Billy Barry.

On 21-01-2018 our precious little girl was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma. A rare and aggressive type of cancer. We were devastated.

Lauryn’s treatment would include surgery, 6 months of chemotherapy and a minimum 5 week stay in Germany for proton radiation as the radiation therapy she requires is not available in Ireland.

John, from the Gavin Glynn foundation had contacted us when he heard Lauryn would have to go abroad for some of her treatment. He also contacted us many times just to check in and see how she was doing. His support is very personal and genuine.

Last Thursday we received a call from Germany to bring Lauryn to Essen on Tuesday for assessment. Panic set in as this was Easter weekend and short notice. We needed to arrange flights, transfers, accommodation etc. Within an hour John had arranged everything for us. We are extremely grateful to John, his family and all the team at the Gavin Glynn foundation for their support. They took the pressure from us allowing us to focus on Lauryn. We will be forever thankful to the Gavin Glynn foundation for all their support.

Love to all
